Mitt Romney Reveals Why He Isn’t Running for President in Face-Off With Jimmy Fallon (Video)

Mitt Romney officially bowed out of the GOP race in January, and on Wednesday he revealed why he ended his presidential aspirations — to himself.

Well, it was actually Jimmy Fallon pretending to be the former Republican candidate in a “Tonight Show” skit, but the resemblance was uncanny.

When asked if he was ready for the big interview with the real Fallon on the NBC late-night show, Romney admitted: “Well, actually I’m a little nervous. Jimmy is probably going to ask me why I didn’t run for president. What should I say?

“Just tell him you enjoy the freedom. You get to sit back, relax, golf all the time, do what ever you want,” said his reflection in mirror.

“Aka, be president?” he asked. “Ha ha, good one me,” faux Romney quipped back.

“I’ve gotta ask, are we still scheduled to box Evander Holyfield, what are we thinking?” he then queried.

“It’s all in good fun — it’s for charity, what’s the worst that can happen?”

Fallon then hit a low blow and replied: “That’s true, I guess it’s not the first time we lose to a black guy.”

Romney got topical in his next dig about his former presidential rival. “Maybe I should talk about the important issues, we’ve got turmoil in the Middle East, an immigration crisis here at home, and now Zayn’s quit One Direction. Thanks Obama!”

“The Tonight Show” airs weekdays at 11.35 p.m. on NBC.
