Mogadishu car bomb exploded outside president's residence, hotels nearby damaged: police

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - A car bomb went off on Tuesday in Somalia's capital outside the president's residence and partly destroyed hotels nearby, police said. "A suicide car bomb exploded outside the presidential palace. So far two hotels opposite the palace are partially destroyed," Major Mohamed Ali, a police officer, told Reuters by phone.
