TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — More than 2 million homes and businesses remain without electricity three days after Sandy pounded New Jersey.
The state's largest utility, Public Service Electric & Gas, says it has restored power to 30 percent of its 1.4 million customers who lost service. Still, 900,000 PSE&G customers are without electricity. The utility is a unit of Public Service Enterprise Group Inc.
First Energy Corp.'s Jersey Central Power & Light unit is reporting outages for 962,079 customers, mainly in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Pepco Holdings Inc.'s Atlantic City Electric unit says 132,177 homes and businesses remain in the dark.
Orange & Rockland Electric is reporting 54,483 customers without service.
