    More kids skip school shots in 8 states

    ATLANTA (AP) — More parents are opting out of school shots for their kids. An Associated Press analysis found that in eight states more than 1 in 20 public school kindergartners aren't getting all the vaccines required for attendance.

    That's because more parents are seeking exemptions so their kids can skip some of the shots. Health officials are worried there could be outbreaks of diseases like measles and whooping cough.

    The AP found more than half of states have seen at least a slight rise in the rate of vaccine exemptions in the past five years. States with the highest exemption rates are in the West and Upper Midwest. Alaska has the highest opt-out rate at 9 percent.

      After several moves and different schools I finally called a STOP to the harassment of providing FRESH paperwork to each new school !! The Pediatricians charged $10.00 per child for Staff Work etc -- $60.00 EACH time for us !! That last School Nurse told me in person that it was MY job to provide the paperwork, NOT her job to have it transferred from other schools -- so the kids would all have to get ALL their shots all over again !! I finally learned a valuable lesson -- I started checking the box :NO shots due to Religious beliefs !!!! Yes the kids were kept up to date on shots and we avoided all the harassments of years past !!!

        What does this article have to do with politics? Are you really so stupid that you can't read the article and know that it's PARENTS who are opting out of getting their children shots? But then again I've never met anyone from Texas who could read, write and use common sense.

        I grew up and lived most of my life in California child. Look at the report and you will see on the map, the majority of the states not getting the children their shots are, southern and Republi--con states.
