More snow on the way in Romania

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Authorities say more snow and blizzards will hit parts of Romania already paralyzed by bad weather, with power outages, thousands stranded in their homes and closed roads.

Some 105 trains were canceled Tuesday, with traffic restricted on some lines. The education ministry says schools will remain closed for a third day in Bucharest and 19 counties in southeast Romania on Wednesday. Classes at the University of Bucharest will be suspended for the next two days.

In the worst affected areas of Buzau and Braila, thousands were stranded in communities that were cut off by the snow.

A major road east of Bucharest closed since Saturday was reopened Tuesday, but some smaller roads remain closed.
