Moto E Unveiled: How Much Smartphone Does $129 Buy?
If you like the colorful, customizable look and feel of Motorola's flagship Moto X but want an even cheaper version of it, the smartphone maker's got you covered. Motorola just unveiled the Moto E, which packages the Android 4.4 experience inside of a bright, durable shell for $129 with no contract.
Although the Moto E will appeal to bargain hunters in the U.S., the company's goal is to help feature phone owners step up to a smartphone across the world.No matter where you live, you'll appreciate the durability features of the Moto E, which features a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3 display and water-resistant splash guard around the body.

Powered by a 1.2-GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and 1GB of RAM, the Moto E sports a 5-MP rear camera and 4GB of internal storage (expandable to 32GB). According to Motorola, the device's 1980 mAh battery can endure 24 hours of mixed use.
The handset can be customized at the point of purchase, with your choice of white or black for the front panel and a range of shells that include green, yellow, purple, teal and red. The Moto E's unlocked price of $129 does have some caveats, as you'll have to live with no LTE and a fairly low-res 960 x 540 4.3-inch display.
Fortunately, if it is high-speed data you seek, Motorola has also refreshed its Moto G smartphone with support for LTE networks. Available for $219 off contract, the Moto G features a Snapdragon 400 processor, 8GB of storage and a 4.5-inch 1280 x 720 display.
