Motorola’s beautiful Moto 360 just got even better

Google announces its first major update for Android Wear

The biggest knock on the Moto 360 since it launched has definitely been its battery life, which many reviewers have singled out for being subpar. According to some Moto 360 owners, however, it seems Motorola has heard these complaints loud and clear because they’re reporting the latest update to the device has brought a significant improvement to the device’s battery life.

Over at Reddit’s Android Wear page, Reddit user jaesin claimed that after installing the latest Moto 360 update, he was able to wear the device for 14 hours and still have 70% battery life remaining, whereas before the device would be at under 50% over the same timeframe. Later down in the thread, several other Moto 360 users also said the newest update delivered a major jolt to the watch’s battery performance.

“With the new update, my watch has been off the charger for 30 hours and I still have 53% left,” wrote one. “This is nuts. I’m going to turn the ambient mode on after my next recharge to see how that fairs. Moto must have made a deal with our Lord Cthulhu on this software update.”

If these users’ reports are accurate then it bodes well for the future of the Moto 360 since Motorola has apparently found a much more efficient way to use power on the device. This means by the time the next-gen Moto 360 rolls around, it should have much stronger battery life right out of the box.
