Moviegoer Accidentally Shoots Himself While Watching 'The Bourne Legacy'

A man in Nevada apologized to his fellow movie patrons after the gun he was carrying fell from his pocket and went off, hitting him in the buttocks. According to police reports, the 56-year-old man was at a screening of The Bourne Legacy in Sparks, Nevada, on Tuesday night when the accidental discharge occurred. He was apparently adjusting himself in his seat when the gun slipped from his pocket and fell to the floor. Witnesses say he stood up, apologized to those sitting around him, then quickly left the theater, heading to a nearby hospital on his own, where police later caught up to him.

Police said the man has a legal permit to carry a concealed weapon, but may still face charges for allowing it to go off in a public place. Only about 30 people were in the theater and most of them didn't even hear the gun go off.
