Music Cleanup for Mac review

Tenorshare Music Cleanup helps you organize and streamline your music library, whether in iTunes or in a local folder on your computer. With this tool at your disposal, you'll save space by eliminating duplicates, and you'll also benefit from more complete information on each song.

Pros

Removing duplicates: When the app completes a scan of your computer, it shows a list of results organized by error category. One of these categories is Duplicates, which allows you to delete multiple copies of songs in your library to save space and makes it easier to find what you're looking for quickly.

Song identification: After a scan, you'll also see listings for Unidentified Songs, and selecting one of these allows you to use the program to find information about that particular track. This tool is useful whether you're missing only part or all of the song info, and the more information you have about each item in your library, the easier it will be later on to organize and find specific items.

Cons

Crashes: The app did crash in the middle of a scan during testing, even though it was only scanning a library of about 7,000 songs. It started right back up again, but the next scan we ran took a long time to complete.

Bottom Line

Tenorshare Music Cleanup offers a nice set of tools for organizing your music library. It's not packed with features by any means, but the ones it does work well, aside from the crashing issues and as long as you're not in a hurry. The free trial only lets you use the program to import information on ten songs, and the full version costs $39.95.

Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Tenorshare Music Cleanup for Mac 1.0.0.0.
