Music Monday (11/24): This Week's New Albums + Videos

This week's new album releases

Each title listed below will go on sale beginning Monday, November 24 or Tuesday, November 25 unless otherwise indicated.

Beyoncé
Beyoncé [Platinum Edition] 2xCD+2xDVD LISTEN (Spotify)

At one point this fall, rumors suggested that a brand-new Beyoncé album was headed to stores in November. It turns out that, instead of a new album, it's merely last year's Beyoncé, albeit in expanded form. The Platinum Edition reissue features a pair of new songs ("7/11" and "Ring Off"), remixes of album tracks, live footage from a recent world tour, and all of the music videos released for the album.

Eminem/Various
. Shady XV 2xCD

This two-disc set celebrates the 15th anniversary of Eminem's Shady Records. One disc serves as the label's greatest hits set, while another includes all new material from the likes of Eminem, D12, Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse, and more. A free, 66-track Shady Classics mixtape is also now available for download.

Public Enemy
It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back 2xCD+DVD LISTEN (Spotify)

Deluxe reissue of Public Enemy's 1988 classic adds a disc of 14 bonus tracks (mainly alternate versions of album cuts) as well as a DVD (originally released on VHS in 1989 as Fight the Power... Live) that includes live performances and music videos. A 2xCD reissue of 1990's Fear of a Black Planet (also expanded to include a disc of alternate mixes) is also out today.

R.E.M.
REMTV 6xDVD

This new DVD box set compiles all of the band's MTV performances throughout the years (including appearances on various MTV networks in other countries). Included are two full concerts and many other live performances, a pair of MTV Unplugged broadcasts (including unaired outtakes), an episode of VH1 Storytellers, a documentary, and much more.

Rick Ross
. Hood Billionaire LISTEN (Spotify)

Following March's Mastermind, Hood Billionaire is the second studio album this year from rapper Rick Ross. How was he able to come up with so much good material in so short a time period? As it turns out, he wasn't; early reviews suggest that the rushed Billionaire is Ross' worst album to date. Guests include Big K.R.I.T., R. Kelly, Jay Z, and Snoop Dogg.

The Velvet Underground
The Velvet Underground 6xCD LISTEN (Spotify)

Available in multiple formats (including 6-disc and 2-disc sets), this 45th anniversary reissue of the band's eponymous 1969 release includes three different mixes of the original album, two live discs (from a pair of 1969 concerts), and a previously unreleased studio album (originally intended to be the band's 4th LP) that features early versions of songs that would later be re-recorded by VU (for Loaded) and/or Lou Reed (for Transformer).
