Music Monday (3/2): This Week's New Albums + Videos

This week's new album releases

Each title listed below will go on sale beginning Tuesday, March 3 unless otherwise indicated.

Cannibal Ox
Blade of the Ronin LISTEN (Pitchfork)

Harlem underground rap duo Cannibal Ox earned a cult following with their 2001 debut The Cold Vein, but they never got around to releasing a follow-up ... until this week. MF Doom is among the guests on this 19-track set.

Of Montreal
. Aureate Gloom LISTEN (NPR)

The prolific Kevin Barnes follows 2013's Lousy with Sylvianbriar with his 13th Of Montreal album, a typically eclectic set of 10 songs.

Purity Ring
. Another Eternity LISTEN (NPR)

The Canadian electronic-pop duo of Megan James and Corin Roddick impressed many with their 2012 debut Shrines. Their second studio album (first announced a year ago) finally arrives this week, with production from Roddick.

Swervedriver
. I Wasn't Born to Lose You LISTEN (NPR)

This week, England's Swervedriver will release their first studio album in 17 years, part of what appears to be a shoegaze revival that has seen both a new My Bloody Valentine album and a Slowdive reunion tour in recent years (with a Ride tour to follow this year). I Wasn't Born to Lose You follows Swervedriver's own reunion shows that have occurred off and on over the past five years (after a hiatus that lasted nearly a decade).
