Music Volume EQ review

Music Volume EQ boosts the volume and improves the quality of the audio on your device for songs as well as films, working best when used with headphones. This popular Android equalizer features nine music presets, a bass booster & virtualizer, and a stereo VU meter, and allows you to save custom presets.

Pros

Boosts volume and quality: Music Volume EQ brings a noticeable improvement to the sound level and quality of your device, making music richer and clearer and film dialog and special effects louder. It's especially good at enhancing pop, rock, and hip-hop MP3s and YouTube videos, upping the volume of the bass, the clarity of the vocals, and sharpening the guitars.

Nine different presets: If you want to quickly improve the sound quality without spending time fine-tuning the equalizer, you can choose from one of nine presets: Normal, Hip Hop, Rock, Dance, Pop, Latin, Metal, Classical, and Flat. These are just as good as the presets on a computer equalizer and, when used together with the bass booster and virtualizer, can considerably improve the sound quality on a smartphone or tablet.

Well-made: Although it runs permanently in the background, the app doesn't drain the battery, not even if you keep the handy app widget onscreen all the time. The sliders, whether we're talking about the plain volume booster or the five band equalizer, are responsive and big enough to be easy to configure.

Cons

Irremovable ads: The banner that stays onscreen while you're configuring the app is annoying, but even worse is the tiny but persistent widget banner that keeps flickering on your screen; also, whenever you launch the app, you have to endure fullscreen ads. There's no paid, ad-free version, so you're stuck with the ads.

Bottom Line

Music Volume EQ impresses with its sound enhancing capabilities. Whether you need to boost the volume of your smartphone's speaker or headphones or fine-tune your device for a better music-listening experience, this app is just what you need. You won't find a better (and more ad-ridden) equalizer on Google Play.
