It’s been 13 years since sleeper hit ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ became a global phenomenon and now the Portokalos family is back for ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2′.

The 2002 original broke box office records at the time and cemented its place in Hollywood history by becoming one of the profitable movies of all time. It took £242m at the box office against a meagre budget of just £3m, which equated to huge profits for its creator Nia Vardalos and producer Tom Hanks.
The film spawned a short-lived TV spin-off ‘My Big Fat Greek Life’ in 2003, but with the rise of female-driven box office hits like ‘Pitch Perfect’ and ‘Magic Mike’ it seems like time is right for part 2.
The sequel will reportedly focus on a “bigger, fatter wedding” that will bring the Portokalos family together, and judging my the trailer, it’s the matriarch of the family who’s getting hitched this time around.
‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2′ is coming to UK cinemas on 25 March, 2016.
