Mysteries of Laura: Melissa Joan Hart to Guest as Serial-Like Radio Host

Fresh off the 100th installment of her ABC Family sitcom, Hart is guest-starring on an upcoming episode of The Mysteries of Laura (Wednesdays, 8/7c), TVLine has confirmed, playing an online radio host named KC Moss, a la Serial‘s Sarah Koenig.
KC is described as a “former ‘nobody,’ a nerdy, frizzy-haired teenager who now runs a website dedicated to solving a fifteen year old cold case.” Naturally, problems arise when Detective Laura Diamond feels that KC’s “reporting” is getting in the way of her own investigation.
Hart technically broke the news herself when she Instagrammed a series of behind-the-scenes shots Thursday, including this selfie with star Debra Messing:

Hart’s role marks perhaps primetime TV’s most on-the-nose riff on the Serial phenomenon that captivated the pop culture-verse last summer.
