Actor Ben Stiller has figured out what many of us at Forbes have known for months—if you put the words “Jennifer Aniston” and “naked” together, you are going to get attention. Lots of attention.
Stiller, who's started a foundation that will help fund schools in impoverished nations like Haiti, came up a brilliant parody video to promote his cause. In the video, he tries to decide what to call his foundation. “Ben Schooler”? “Touched by a Ben-Gel"?
But Stiller is no dummy. He knows he needs to really grab people. So he decides to call his charity "The Jennifer Aniston Foundation” with the URL of the charity being seejenniferanistonnakedfoundation.com. Sorry, fellas (and ladies), the URL brings you to Stiller’s charity’s Facebook page. (Can’t believe that URL wasn’t already taken!)
Stiller is obviously already aware of the “Jennifer Naked Effect,” wherein if you insinuate in any way, shape, or form, that you might get to see Jennifer Aniston naked, thousands of people will instantly click. At Forbes, we’re quite familiar with this effect, and have put it to good use several times over the past few months.
In March, Marc Babej wrote “Jennifer Aniston Sex Tape Draws 7.5 million Views." Babej's post didn't draw quite that many views, but it drew enough that a few months later, he did a nekkid Aniston follow-up called “Jennifer Aniston Appears Topless in New Smartwater Ad."
A day later, wanting some of that nekkid Aniston traffic action myself, I wrote a blog called “Jennifer Aniston: Still Hot After All These Years” after the yoga enthusiast was given the "Decade of Hotness" award by Maxim magazine.
A day after that, Scott Goodson, apparently wanting to ride this gravy train, penned, “Topless Jennifer Aniston Revealed.” She wasn't quite topless in the photo, but oh well.
A fellow Forbes blogger and I began joking about how we could possibly work a naked Jennifer Aniston into all of our posts in hopes of driving traffic. Stiller was either eaves dropping on our banter or had the same idea.
And here I am doing it again. Though I put quotes around the word "naked." I do still have some standards.
I personally think it’s kind of cool that everyone wants to see in the buff a 42-year-old woman who appears to have all her real assets. And now maybe a little of that prurient curiosity will help kids in Haiti.
Check out Stiller's video below, in which a clothed Aniston makes an appearance.
