Namibia GDP growth to slow to 4.4 percent in 2016: central bank

WINDHOEK (Reuters) - Namibia's economic growth is projected to slow to 4.4 percent this year compared with 5.7 percent in 2015, the central bank said on Wednesday. "The slowdown in 2016 is mainly due to the projected contraction in construction and the diamond mining sub-sector," the Bank of Namibia said in a statement. Growth is seen accelerating to 5.4 percent in 2017, the bank said. (Writing by Olivia Kumwenda-Mtambo; Editing by James Macharia)
