National Weather Service warns much of Ohio facing heavy rains, flood risk through weekend

CLEVELAND - The snow melt-off and heavy rains are posing a flooding risk across much of Ohio this weekend.

The National Weather Service says rain through much of the weekend could lead to flooding in low-lying areas.

A flood warning has been issued for the Great Miami River in western Ohio at Sidney and Troy along the Interstate 75 corridor.

The level could reach flood stage by late Saturday and stay elevated through Monday.

A flood watch was issued for much of northern Ohio through Sunday afternoon.
