NBA roundup: Thunder's Perkins faces assault charge

Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins faces a misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly punching a woman outside a nightclub in Houston in July, according to KHOU.com.

Perkins and his brother-in-law were charged when the case was re-filed after being dismissed. Perkins posted a $1,000 bond on Thursday.

The alleged incident occurred after two vehicles backed into each other outside the club and an altercation ensued. Perkins was a passenger in one of the vehicles. A woman involved, Miketta Cotton, told police that Perkins punched her brother, Ja'Keenan Cotton, in the head and then punched her in the face, causing her to fall down.

In 2011, Perkins was arrested on public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges stemming from a fight outside a bar in Beaumont, Texas. The charges were later dropped.
