North Dakota agriculture officials, company representatives show off crops in China mission

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- State agriculture officials say more than 150 Chinese buyers attended events in Beijing and Guangzhou meant to promote North Dakota products.

Representatives from 14 companies and organizations from North Dakota returned last weekend from the trade mission, which included specialists from the Northern Crops Institute.

North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the trip was a great way to show how the state's crops could be used in Chinese food products.

The traveling contingent included chefs who prepared Chinese dishes with North Dakota ingredients such as flax, sunflowers, wheat, barley and soybeans.
