Neal Baer and Dan Truly Land Public Health Drama at CBS

“Under the Dome’s” Neal Baer has added a third project to his 2015 development roster, teaming again with scribe Dan Truly for an untitled medical drama at CBS.

The pair are co-writing and exec producing the CBS TV Studios pilot that follows Los Angeles’ female director of public health, who handles everything from large scale health scares from bad drugs or bio terrorism, to irate celebrities getting bad health ratings on their vanity restaurants.

This is the second project for Baer (pictured right) and Truly (left), who are working on “Cheerleader Death Squad” for the CW with Marc Cherry, while Baer is also developing medical drama “Windward Clinic” for the Eye. He’s also at work as the showrunner on the third season of CBS’ “Under the Dome.”

The concept for the new drama is a fit with Baer’s background as a licensed physician. Last year he was named a project scientist of Global Media Center for Social Impact at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health.

Baer and Truly are repped by Paradigm.
