    Nepal opposition vow protests against PM

    KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) — Nepal's opposition parties say they have teamed up against Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and vow to topple his government. They say he has no moral or legal grounds to stay in power.

    Nepali Congress senior leader Arjun Narsingh said Wednesday his party and 14 others elected to the last parliament have agreed to hold protests and rallies to pressure Bhattarai to resign.

    Bhattarai's opponents say he lost his legitimacy Sunday when the Constituent Assembly expired without drafting a new constitution. Bhattarai says he will lead a caretaker government until another assembly is picked in elections he intends to hold in November.

    Narsingh said the opposition has no problems with elections but they should not be conducted by Bhattarai's government.
