Ida Petersson, senior footwear buyer at Net-a-Porter, gives Footwear News the scoop on what she loved in Europe and why she’s so excited about Mansur Gavriel’s footwear launch.

Top three shoe collections in Europe:

Gucci. “It was an incredible collection — Alessandro Michele’s new take on Gucci’s heritage is raising the bar and creating new trends.”

Aquazzura. “This collection just continues to impress. It’s one of the most comprehensive ranges I’ve seen for the season and a great balance of fashion and core styles.”

Dolce & Gabbana. “The runway featured an explosion of pom-poms and colors. Seeing the range up close made me fall in love with the collection even more.”

Trends you loved:

Pom-poms — Dolce, Aquazzura, Alvaro and Sam Edelman all featured this fun detail. I predict it will be a street-style favorite come spring.

“The ‘lazy’ shoe (slip-on mules/loafers), in flats and mid-heels. From Gucci to Acne and beyond, we are all about this shape, especially versions with a collapsible back.”

“Flower power: From McQueen and Dolce to Tabitha Simmons and Paul Andrew, florals were everywhere. Either hand-stitched or printed, this is one of my absolute favorite stories for the season.”

Names to watch:

“My top pick is Mansur Gavriel. We are so excited to be launching one of our favorite brand’s newest category. It’s a guaranteed must-have for your wardrobe next season.”
