Netflix Renews Bloodline for Season 2

Earlier this month, Netflix's latest drama Bloodline got off to a frustratingly slow start, but the streaming service must be pretty happy with its performance, because the Kyle Chandler-fronted series has been renewed for Season 2, the company announced Tuesday.

The series tells the twisted tale of the Rayburn clan, whose secrets and emotional scars are exposed when the black sheep of the family returns home to the Florida Keys, where his parents and siblings still live. Just don't be fooled by the relaxing and tranquil coastal setting; beneath the calm waters of Bloodline's surface is a hurricane of deep-seated family issues.

Hailing from Damages creators Glenn and Todd Kessler and their partner Daniel Zelman, Bloodline features one of the most impressive casts in recent TV history. In addition to Chandler, the show's roster boasts Linda Cardellini, Norbert Leo Butz, and Ben Mendelsohn as the adult children of the respectable Rayburns, who are played by Sissy Spacek and Sam Shepard.

Season 2 will begin production later this year for a 2016 premiere.
