Newly elected Iraq parliament opens first session

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's newly elected parliament opened its first session on Tuesday, as lawmakers faced pressure to form a new government to confront an insurgency. Lawmakers stood as an orchestra played the national anthem. Mehdi al-Hafidh, the oldest member of parliament, presided as temporary speaker over the session.
