WEAK VIEW: Online marketplace and payments processor eBay Inc. issued a lackluster fourth-quarter outlook Wednesday that prompted its shares to fall 5 percent in after-hours trading.

THE NUMBERS: EBay forecast fourth-quarter earnings of 79 to 81 cents per share, below the 83 cents analysts polled by FactSet were looking for. It predicted revenue of $4.5 billion to $4.6 billion, below the $4.64 billion expected.

SHARE ACTION: Shares fell 5.3 percent to $50.70 in after-hours trading after the outlook came out along with third-quarter results that were largely in-line with predictions.
