2 minors accused of breaking into school, spraying hateful graffiti on walls

Two minor boys from Los Angeles were arrested Monday after they allegedly broke into a school in Culver City and sprayed hateful graffiti across the campus.

The unidentified boys are accused of breaking into El Marino Language School at 11450 Port Rd. last Thursday.

Culver City Police Department officers arrived on scene and found a broken window into the school and graffiti in several areas.

While police did not specify what the graffiti said, officials did say it included hate speech.

Because school is out of session, no students at the school witnessed any of the vandalism.

The two boys were arrested by police and released back to the custody of their parents, police said. Neither boy is a student of the Culver City School District.

It’s unclear if any charges will be filed.

“Culver City police will continue to collaborate closely with the Culver City Unified School District to support our school community and ensure the safety and well-being of our school campuses,” police officials said in a Monday news release. “Additional patrols of the area are being conducted for added peace of mind.”

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Culver City PD Public Information Officer Jennifer Atenza by email or by calling 310-253- 6120.
