4 hospitalized, including 14-year-old boy, after shooting in Los Angeles

Four people, including a 14-year-old boy, were hospitalized Sunday night after a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of 51st Street and Avalon Boulevard just before 8 p.m. in the South Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, LAPD confirmed to KTLA.

Police said four victims were crossing the street when an unknown number of suspects in a vehicle started firing at them with a handgun before fleeing the scene.

Footage of the aftermath showed a heavy presence of police at the scene, along with a dozen evidence markers marking shell casings in the street.

Three of the victims suffering from gunshot wounds were able to get to the hospital on their own, while the 14-year-old was rushed to the hospital by medical personnel with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

All of the victims were listed in stable condition.

The suspects, according to police, were only described as males.

A motive for the shooting is unknown. No further details were made available.
