Alleged Miami Beach sexual assaulter was a registered sex offender. Here’s what we know
The man allegedly behind a violent sexual battery on Miami Beach’s Beachwalk earlier this week was a sex offender in Illinois who failed to keep his registry status updated, records reveal.
Keith Hill Jr., 30, was arrested Friday by Hollywood police after being on the run from his Miami Beach assault on Tuesday. As of Saturday, Hill was in the Broward County jail on charges of giving a false ID to authorities, failing to register as a sex offender and failing to comply with sex offender registration law.

He will be facing at least an additional charge of sexual battery/kidnapping once he is extradited to Miami-Dade County.
The Illinois child sex offender registry shows Hill as a sexual predator who, between 2014 and 2015, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between 13 and 16. The exact details of the crime are unclear.
The registry said Hill was non-compliant with registration records, and he was last known to be homeless in Freeport, Illinois.
During the overnight hours of Tuesday, an unidentified woman was rollerblading on the Beachwalk when Hill rushed her from behind and attacked, police say.
In South Florida, Hill does not have a criminal record aside from the alleged sexual battery, court records show.
Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones said in a written statement, “As the judicial process unfolds, MBPD remains committed to monitoring the case closely and collaborating with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.”
