Bay Area dim sum chain is adding 2 Sacramento-area restaurants. Here’s where

A Bay Area-based dim sum chain is expanding in the Sacramento region with two new locations.

88 Bao Bao is opening restaurants in Roseville and Davis, according to Tuan Nguyen, director of real estate firm KW Commercial.

Nguyen said the chain will open one location at Roseville’s Freedom Pointe Plaza, which is near Chipotle, Noah’s Bagels and Top Golf.

The second location will be at the University Mall by UC Davis, which is being redeveloped into The Davis Collection.

88 Bao Bao currently has one location in the Sacramento area — at 10824 Olson Drive, Unit D, in Rancho Cordova.

It is unclear, as of Thursday morning, when the two new locations will open, Nguyen said.

What’s on the menu at new dim sum restaurant?

88 Bao Bao offers a variety of dim sum and Chinese food dishes, such as noodles, rice and soups.

Some of the menu options include pork xiaolong bao, steamed vegetable dumplings, barbecue pork buns, Shanghai chicken chow mein and wonton soup.

In total, 88 Bao Bao has seven locations, including Dublin, Stockton, Concord and Vacaville.

When is 88 Bao Bao open in Sacramento area?

88 Bao Bao in Rancho Cordova location has online ordering and pick up.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.
