Black pickup owner suspected of local crimes

Jul. 30—EPHRATA — On Monday, the Grant County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a 21-year-old man. The newly-formed crime reduction team apprehended Oscar E. Ruiz Ramos, 21, of Quincy, on Saturday while he was driving a pickup suspected of involvement in area fuel thefts and casing local homes, according to the GCSO statement.

The black 2001 Chevy Ruiz Ramos was found driving and may have been involved in other crimes, the statement said. GCSO is asking anyone who recognizes the truck in the photo to call the department at 509-761-1160.

According to the statement, Ruiz Ramos had multiple outstanding warrants issued in Grant County, including charges for driving with a suspended license and a hit-and-run involving an unattended vehicle. He also had warrants from Chelan County and Ellensburg, according to the investigators. Ruiz Ramos has been transferred to the Ellensburg Police Department's custody and is currently detained in Kittitas County Jail.

Ruiz Ramos is being held with bail set at $30,000 and he faces charges of Theft in the Third Degree, Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor and Reckless Driving, according to the Kittitas County Jail roster.

The truck has been impounded, pending a search warrant.
