A Broward Publix sold a $34,000 Sunday Florida Lottery game jackpot winning ticket

A shopper at a Hollywood Publix had a happy end to the weekend when Sunday night’s Fantasy 5 drawing made a ticket worth $34,972, the Florida Lottery announced.

A Quick Pick ticket with the numbers 1, 8, 12, 17, and 19 was sold at the Publix on Hollywood Circle, 1740 Polk St. The other two jackpot tickets were sold at a Mobil gas station in West Palm Beach and an Orlando grocery store on Old Winter Garden Rd.

These and any other Florida Lottery game-winning tickets worth $600 to $1 million can be redeemed at a district office, such as 14621 Oak Ln. in Miami Lakes (MIARC@flalottery.com, 305-364-3080) or 4360 Forest Hill Blvd. in Palm Springs (WPBRC@flalottery.com, 561-640-6190). Offices are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments are not necessary.

Investment app Robinhood is adding more AI features for investors with its acquisition of AI-powered research platform Pluto Capital, Inc., announced on Monday. The company says that Pluto will allow Robinhood to add tools for quicker identification of trends and investment opportunities, help guide users with their investment strategies, and offer real-time portfolio optimization. Pluto founder Jacob Sansbury will join Robinhood with the deal's closure, but terms were not disclosed.

An investigation conducted by the European Commission has found that Meta's "pay or consent" offer to Facebook and Instagram users in Europe does not comply with the bloc's Digital Markets Act (DMA), according to preliminary findings reported by the regulator on Monday. The Commission wrote in a press release that the binary choice Meta offers "forces users to consent to the combination of their personal data and fails to provide them a less personalised but equivalent version of Meta's social networks."

Japan's SmartHR raises $140M Series E as strong demand for HR tech boosts its ARR to $100M
SmartHR, a cloud-based human resources and labor management software startup, said on Monday that it has raised $140 million in a funding round led by KKR and Teachers' Ventures Growth, an investment arm of Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, with participation from existing investors. The Series E round, which comes three years after the company raised a $142.5 million (15.6 billion JPY) Series D at a valuation of $1.6 billion, is the latest indicator that investors are still keen to back tech that helps companies more efficiently manage their biggest cost base: staff. Co-founded in 2015 by Kensuke Naito and Shoji Miyata, SmartHR has been seeing strong demand for its SaaS platform, which helps enterprises manage and streamline human resources and operations, in the past couple of years: Its annual recurring revenue (ARR) reached $100 million as of February 2024, a company spokesperson told TechCrunch, which signifies a decent uptick from the $80 million in total revenue it reported in FY 2023.
