Celebrating the Fourth of July in Sacramento? Check out these 6 star-spangled events
The sweltering heat isn’t stopping Sacramento from celebrating the Fourth of July.
There will be several Independence Day events in and around the capital city on Thursday, featuring firework displays, parades and live entertainment.
Here’s where to go on Thursday, July 4:
4th on the Field
When: 6 p.m., fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Sutter Health Park, 400 Ballpark Drive, West Sacramento
Sutter Health Park is presenting its 11th annual 4th on the Field event.
There will be live music, food trucks, contests and a fireworks display at night, as well as a beer garden and kids area.
General admission costs $18.90 and gets you access to the ballpark field. You can get a family four-pack for $16.35 for each person.
Kids under 2 years old are free.
Those 21 years old and over can get 21+ Club Level tickets for $21. 95 apiece, which allow access to two bar areas, games and second-story views of the fireworks show. Those ticketholders will also get to continue celebrating for an extra hour at the event.
Red, White and Brew
When: 6 p.m. to midnight
Where: Drake’s: The Barn, 985 Riverfront St., West Sacramento
Drake’s: The Barn is having a party on Thursday featuring “supreme viewing space for fireworks in all of Sacramento,” according to its website.
Red, White and Brew will feature a live DJ set and a silent disco from 9 p.m. to midnight. There will be food and drinks for purchase.
Ticket prices start at $15 for people 12 years and older. Entry for these ticketholders begins at 8 p.m.
Admission costs $55 for people 21 and over, and includes silent disco headphones and one complimentary drink. Entry for those eventgoers begins at 7 p.m.
There’s also an Elevated Experience ticket for those 21 and over, For $75, you get first entry at 6 p.m. and access to the fire pit and beer garden. Ticketholders will also get silent disco headphones, a private bar, complimentary small bites, a s’mores station and two drinks.

4th of July Bike Parade and Festival
When: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Arden Park, 1000 La Sierra Drive, Sacramento
There will be a bike parade and festival at Arden Park to celebrate the Fourth of July.
The park will be filled with live music and a kid’s zone with inflatables. There will also be a raffle, hamburgers and hot dogs.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. You can register to have your car or golf cart in the parade. You can also walk or bike in the parade.
Fourth of July Carnival
When: 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Christine Thompson Aquatic Center, 8025 Waterman Road, Sacramento
Families are invited to the Fourth of July Carnival at the Christine Thompson Aquatic Center.
Various carnival booths will be set up where you can play games and win prizes. There will be a themed photo booth and areas for arts and crafts, as well as ice cream and nachos.
Tickets are available online for $8. They cost $9 apiece at the carnival.
39th Annual Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Celebration
When: 4 to 11 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday
Where: Hagan Community Park, 2197 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova
Rancho Cordova is celebrating Independence Day for two days.
On Wednesday, there will be carnival rides and a concert by 3 Queens of Motown concert.
Thursday kicks off with the All America Mile Run and parade in the morning. There will be carnival rides and a Abba tribute concert at night.
The grand finale for both nights features a fireworks show starting at 9:45 p.m.
Tickets for the event cost $5 online and $10 at the gate. Carnival ride tickets are $30 per day online and $40 at the gate.
4th of July Creekwalk
When: 6:30 p.m.
Where: Andrews Park, 614 E Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville
For those thinking of venturing outside of Sacramento, Vacaville will be hosting a Fourth of July event at the Creekwalk Plaza.
A party band will be performing music spanning from 1970s songs to contemporary tunes, including R&B, pop, hip hop and jazz.
Food, drinks and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
Following the performance, there will be a fireworks show.
Tickets are $3 for people 13 and over, and are available at the door. Kids 12 years and under are free.
