CHP issues Ebony Alert for teen missing for more than two months, last seen in Elk Grove

The California Highway Patrol issued an Ebony Alert on Tuesday for a 14-year-old girl went missing from Elk Grove more than two months ago.

Kamara Green was last seen about 8 a.m. May 14 at Monterey Trail High School, the CHP said. She was wearing a black turtleneck dress, black pants and flip-flops.

Authorities described Green as a 5-foot-5, 125-pound girl with brown hair and brown eyes.

The CHP activated the alert on behalf of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Amar Gandhi, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said Green didn’t initially qualify for the list of factors required by the CHP to issue an Ebony Alert. However, the lengthy time period that she’s been missing prompted deputies to seek further help, Gandhi said.

Residents are asked to call 911 if Green is spotted.

Ebony Alerts, which went into effect this year in California, help to provide information to the public about the “suspicious or unexplainable disappearance” of a Black youth between ages 12 and 25, according to the CHP.
