Crews battling large brushfire in Antelope Valley

Crews with the Los Angeles County Fire Department are on the scene of an approximately 350-acre brushfire in the Antelope Valley, officials announced.

The two-alarm “Columbia Fire,” located in the area of North 60th Street West near West Avenue C in the Lancaster community of Antelope Acres, erupted at around 4 p.m. fire officials said.

The 50-acre fire, burning in light to medium vegetation, quickly grew to more than 300 acres.

It is unclear if there are any structures threatened, though, so far, no orders to evacuate have been issued.

Images of the fire showed some flames with heavy smoke blanketing the area.

As of 6:45 p.m., there have been no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

As of 9 p.m., fire officials had not provided any additional updates.
