  • The group plans to air the ad on "Morning Joe," Biden's talkshow of choice, until he steps aside.

  • The ad will air in D.C. and the area around Rehoboth, Delaware, where Biden is isolating with COVID.

  • More elected Dems called on Biden to "pass the torch" on Friday, ramping up the pressure campaign.

A Democratic group, Pass the Torch, is doing all it can to ensure that President Joe Biden hears their pleas that he drop his reelection bid. Starting Monday, the group will air an advertisement pushing him to drop out on "Morning Joe," the president's talkshow of choice, NBC reported.

The 30-second advertisement includes Democratic voters from Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state. They stand in front of leafy trees and brick houses, speaking directly to the camera — and the president.

"President Biden, you saved democracy in 2020," one says.

"Now, you have a chance to do it again," continues another. The voters urge Biden to let them choose a candidate that can "bring new energy" and defeat Donald Trump. At the end, the camera cuts between different handmade signs reading, "Pass the torch Joe."

The ad will run in Washington, D.C. and the area around Rehoboth, Delaware, where Biden is currently isolating with COVID-19.

"We want to get this message — that we're so grateful for all you've done, and now it's seriously time to pass the torch — directly to President Biden," Aaron Regunberg, a member of Pass the Torch, said. "We'll be going up his favorite programs, and we plan to stay up until we hear the announcement that he's going to do the right thing and step aside. Hopefully we'll be able to take it off the air in the very near future."

Regunberg did not provide details on how much money the group is spending on the advertisement. Pass the Torch did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.

As more elected Democrats call on Biden to bow out, it seems that he can't escape the growing push to get him off the ticket — come Monday, it will even dominate his cup of morning joe.
