2 suspects wanted in connection with body found in Los Angeles lake

Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department are searching for two suspects in connection with the killing of man whose body was discovered in MacArthur Park Lake Wednesday.

The discovery was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m. at the park located at 2230 W. 6th St.

Officers responding to the death investigation said the victim, described only as white male, approximately 40 to 45-years-old, was pulled from the lake and pronounced dead at the scene.

Sky5 was over the area at 11:30 a.m. where a white canopy had been set up over the body.

Using city cameras located around the park, homicide detectives obtained video evidence of two men, both described as 30 to 40-year-old white or Hispanic males, pushing the victim, who was alive at the time, into the lake, LAPD confirmed to KTLA.

Authorities said that one of the suspects, who is approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds was last seen wearing blue jeans with red and orange Nike shoes, a black hat and a black hoodie with the word “California” spelled in white and red letters.

The other suspect, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds, was last seen wearing a tan t-shirt with dark colored jeans and shoes.

A police spokesperson said investigators do not believe the homicide is gang related.
