The property unfolds across 27,000 square feet of living space. The main residence holds seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and six half bathrooms, The house sits on a private cul-de-sac with 24/7 guard services. It includes two detached one-bedroom apartments.

“The Behring Estate stands as a landmark among residences in Blackhawk and the broader East Bay,” said listing agent Joujou Chawla of Compass in a news release.

Behring developed 5,000 acres of rolling hills at the base of Mt. Diablo to create the Blackhawk community.

The features of the Behring Estate are sensational, including:

A ballroom offering multiple seating areas, a “club-worthy” bar and garage entry for displaying cars

A 10,000-bottle, temperature-controlled wine room

Retractable ceiling, steam shower, and sauna in primary bathroom

Multi-level koi ponds

Outdoor dining pavilion with full kitchen and outdoor pool that resembles a lagoon

An indoor waterfall

A tennis Court with views of Mount Diablo

An 18-foot, 17-ton sculpture in the entry/driveway

“Undoubtedly one of the more extravagant homes and a height of luxury and timeless aesthetic rarely reached within the gates of the country club, this magnificent residence is also the result of technical efforts that propelled a unique vision to reality,” the official property listing states. “The design skillfully integrates indoor and outdoor spaces with gardens and waterfalls, utilizing the best materials from soaring Brazilian teakwood ceilings and stunning Idaho quartz to a quarry worth of Utah flagstone.”
