Fundraiser identifies boy, 11, who died after medical emergency at O.C. water park

The boy who died after experiencing a medical emergency at a water park in Orange County has been identified.

A GoFundMe set up to help the family says 11-year-old Titus Wininger is the name of the boy who died suddenly outside of a pool at Wild Rivers Water Park in Irvine on June 22.

“Titus was with his youth group at a water park when he became unresponsive,” the GoFundMe reads. “While the family is still waiting for more information or to understand why, we would like to meet them with love, support and a monetary donation that they may need during this time of sorrow.”

Wild Rivers announced the boy’s death, initially saying he was 12 years old, however, his mother confirmed to KTLA’s sister station KSWB that he was 11.

The park, originally open from 1986 to 2011, opened its current iteration and location at 10000 Great Park Boulevard in the summer of 2022.
