Good Samaritans help ejected person on 101 Freeway in Los Angeles, massive pileup ensues

A massive pileup on the 101 Freeway disrupted traffic early Friday morning in Los Angeles after good Samaritans helped a person involved in a crash.

According to stringer service RMG News, the California Highway Patrol received reports of a flipped vehicle in the eastbound lanes of the 101 just after midnight, near Hayvenhurst in Encino. A man was ejected in the crash, prompting two people on the freeway to exit their vehicles and come to his aid.

At that point, multiple drivers collided with the parked vehicles on the highway. One man, who was outside of his vehicle, was seen jumping out of the way after a vehicle was struck by another driver.

As many as eight vehicles were involved in the pileup.

As of Friday morning, it was not clear if any injuries were sustained in the pileup. The conditions of the man ejected and a woman involved in the initial rollover were not immediately made available.
