Growing Kansas restaurant chain opens 3rd KC area spot this week. A 4th is coming soon

Wichita-based Mediterranean restaurant Meddy’s will open its third Kansas City area location this week. And a fourth is expected within a month.

The restaurant, which has a devoted following in the KC metro, will welcome the public to its Lenexa location at 8810 Maurer Road on Wednesday. It will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Owner Alex Harb called the newest Johnson County spot “Meddy’s 5.0.”

“It has a bigger footprint to accommodate the business we’ve been getting,” Harb said, adding that the new space will be twice the size of the Prairie Village location, at 4105 W. 83rd St.

The Lenexa restaurant will have a covered patio with heaters and fans, which will also host live music on Wednesday through Saturday evenings through the summer starting July 24.

Since the chain opened its Prairie Village spot — the first in the metro — in late 2022, Harb said Kansas Citians have fallen in love with the concept. Menu items include hummus plates, shawarma, falafel and cocktails.

“We are honored and humbled by the amount of support we’ve received from the Kansas City region,” Harb said.

A Brookside location opened last fall at 6301 Brookside Plaza. And soon, “within a month,” said district manager Mark Logan, Meddy’s will add a fourth Kansas City area location, 8636 N.E. 85th St., Suite H near Liberty.

The company is also expanding to Omaha, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Salina.

Harb said he never imagined Meddy’s would grow to be as successful as it is today. He immigrated to the U.S. from Lebanon in 2000 and opened Meddy’s in 2014, slowly adding more locations across Wichita.

The Northland location will be his ninth.

“It’s just been a humbling journey,” he said.
