Lake Elsinore man behind bars after knife attack
A Lake Elsinore man is behind bars after he allegedly attacked another man with a knife Wednesday night.
Michael Losoya, 41, was identified as the attacker in a reported assault in the 32000 block of Riverside Drive, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
The victim, only identified as a man, sustained injuries to his head at about 10:45 p.m. that night, authorities said.
After the attack was reported, Losoya was found “a short distance away” and arrested on charges of attempted murder and resisting arrest.
The victim, meanwhile, was medically evaluated but declined further treatment.
Losoya’s bail is set at $1 million and he is being held at the Cois Byrd Detention Center, the Sheriff’s Department said, though jail records indicate he is at the Southwest Detention Center.
Additionally, jail records indicate two other charges — child negligence and willfully endangering a child — that add $20,000 to his bail, bringing the total to $1.02 million.
He is due to appear in court at the Murrieta Southwest Justice Center on Tuesday.
