Man, 41, dies days after South Lake Tahoe shooting, police say. Suspect remains in custody

The victim of a shooting last week in South Lake Tahoe has died, according to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

The victim, identified as 41-year-old Dennis Crowe, was a former resident of South Lake Tahoe, department spokesman Sgt. Nick Carlquist said Tuesday in a news release. The shooting occurred around 6 a.m. July 16 on the 2000 block of Eloise Avenue, according to police.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Christopher Guzman, is still being held at the El Dorado County Jail, Carlquist said. He is facing charges of homicide and other crimes and is awaiting arraignment. The investigation by police is ongoing.

A 32-year-old man who appeared to have been assaulted by the same suspect on July 16 was released from the hospital in stable condition the same day, Carlquist said.
