Man stabbed at North Hollywood Metro station

A man was stabbed at the Los Angeles Metro station in North Hollywood Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Jader Chaves of the Los Angeles Police Department said a 45-year-old man was walking up the stairs of the station at Lankershim and Chandler boulevards at about 1:50 p.m. when he was stabbed in the ribs.

Footage shared to the Citizen app showed numerous police and fire officials on scene and what appeared to be blood on a concrete barrier around a palm tree.

The man’s condition and the circumstances leading up to the stabbing have not been made public, but the attacker is a man believed to be about 30 years old, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds who was wearing all black and riding a bicycle.

This is the latest in a long string of violence at Metro stations and on Metro trains and buses.

The bulk of the attacks are perpetrated by those who did not pay fare.
