The premiere of former NFL star Marshawn Lynch and California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast has been put on hold following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

“In light of recent events, we are postponing the launch of ‘Politickin,'” a post to the show’s Instagram account read on Sunday.

The podcast’s first episode was set to be released on Monday.

“This may be the best time to have these conversations,” wrote one follower on the postponement. “We need to get back to being ok to have difficult conversations and learn to agree to disagree.”

“Good to see respect, no matter which side of the political fence you sit,” another follower wrote in the comments.

The Super Bowl-winning running back and longtime California politician revealed their “unexpected collaboration” earlier this month. The premise of the show was to have open and honest conversations from different viewpoints.

The new release date for the podcast has not yet been revealed.

On Saturday, Trump was injured at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in what the FBI says was an assassination attempt. His ear was covered in blood as the Secret Service whisked him off the stage. He later revealed he “felt the bullet ripping through the skin.”

The shooting killed a rally attendee and left two others seriously injured.
