Off-duty BSO deputy killed in a motorcycle crash on the Fourth of July

An off-duty Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy died in a motorcycle crash in Sunrise on the Fourth of July.

The International Union of Police Associations announced on Instagram that Anthony Zahorovsky, 27, was killed in the accident.

“Anthony’s loss is deeply felt by all of us,” the IUPA said in a statement on social media. “As a colleague, friend, and family member, he touched many lives.”

CBS News Miami reports that the crash happened right before 12:20 p.m. in the area of North Pine Island Road at Northwest 44th Street.

“He was an amazing guy and he loved what he was doing,” Andres Muneton, Zahorosvky’s cousin, said to the station. “... he was amazing as a father.”
