One person dead after body found in Arkansas River near downtown Wichita
One person was found dead in the Arkansas River on Saturday afternoon near downtown, according to a Sedgwick County Emergency Communications supervisor.
A submersion call was reported at 1:04 p.m. at Mclean and Lincoln after someone reported finding a body, the supervisor said.
The Wichita Turkey Trot had its 10-mile turnaround early Saturday morning at Mclean and Lincoln.
A police spokesperson did not have additional details available at around 3 p.m.
