Plane lands ‘on its roof’ in Riverside County

Crews responded to reports that a plane was on its roof in a field in Riverside County on Saturday, authorities confirmed.

Initially reported at 12:57 p.m., Cal Fire Riverside County said the crash occurred at Scott Road and Patita Lane in Winchester.

Both occupants were able to exit the plane without injury. As of 2:30 p.m., there was no word on how or why the plane went down.

Cal Fire Riverside County identified the plane as a “small aircraft.”
