Public Health reports high bacteria at 2 L.A. County beaches

Public Health officials have added two other locations to the list of Los Angeles County beaches affected by high levels of bacteria.

The entire swim area of Escondido Creek at Escondido State Beach and Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro are considered dangerous until further notice, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Public advised to stay out of these Los Angeles County beaches

These two locations join eight others the department publicized on Tuesday where beach visitors should avoid swimming, surfing and playing in the ocean.

Unlike ocean water use warnings issued in the winter and spring, these do not expire 72 hours after recent rainfall ends. Instead, they remain in place until bacteria levels return to an acceptable level in tests.
