See Rancho Cordova celebrate Fourth of July with fireworks show and carnival

The city of Rancho Cordova got a head start on its Fourth of July celebrations with a Wednesday night carnival and fireworks show.

It expected to draw 20,000 visitors with two days of Independence Day festivities.

Both events will repeat on July Fourth at Hagan Community Park, with the fireworks show — proclaimed the “best in Northern California” by the city — set for 9:45 p.m.

The carnival runs from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and includes another set of circus and concert shows.

Thursday’s events also include a run and 10 a.m. parade.
