South Florida is again under a heat advisory. This time, temperatures will feel up to 105

The oppressive heat will continue to bear down on South Florida as the National Weather Service rolled out another heat advisory, this one lasting until 7 p.m. Thursday.

The NWS warned that “feels-like” temperatures could reach up to 102-105 degrees across Broward and Miami-Dade counties, with a 20% chance of rain. The high temperature is expected to reach 91 degrees.

This advisory includes Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Hialeah, Hollywood, Kendall and Coral Springs.

These types of temperatures can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. People are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, avoid the sun and check on relatives and neighbors.

Outdoor activities should be minimized during the hottest parts of the day — from noon to 3 p.m. — and lightweight, loose-fitting clothing is recommended. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration advises frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.

If heat-related symptoms like heavy sweating, cold or clammy skin, confusion or fainting occur, seek immediate medical attention by calling 911, as heat stroke can be life-threatening.
